I'm confused, why was Hermione sorted into Gryffindor instead of Ravenclaw?
because she valued courage and bravery over cleverness and knowledge.
I don’t think that’s true. In the first movie AND book, that’s what Hermione was all about. I believe it was in fact the Sorting Hat that determined her potential and, regardless of whether or not anyone knew it would come out, the Hat saw an opportunity for immense growth.
well someone i was talking with privately recently pointed out to me that she acknowledges she values it more in the very first book, rather than the 7th like I had said before. she says “Me? Books and cleverness, there are more important things. Bravery and friendship—” and i had forgotten all about it.
So still, it can go either way I’m just still convinced that while it may consider what you want and how you are, it can see whats important to you and will place you in whichever house will help you nurture that.
Oh Harry Potter Fandom. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
